Senior Development Manager – Retail & Commercial

Job Description

 You will be accountable for the Development Management of the design and delivery of Retail , commercial and Leisure components of the Development Portfolio and pipeline.

 You will focus on forming the vision, masterplanning, preparation of briefs and preparing for delivery of projects.

 You will ensure the commercial, place and socio-economic objectives of the business plan are delivered.

 Your role will also assist with the professional development of existing Development Managers within the development business.

 The role is National and you will be required to support the regional development teams.

 Lead early leasing negotiations on a number of key development programmes.

 Production of a standard specification for Clarions commercial property portfolio.

 Production of interim use strategies on large scale development programmes.

 Ability to assist in preparation of bid document to support the land programme.

Personal Specification

 Relevant tertiary qualifications in the property, design or engineering.  Advanced major projects experience and Development Management background.  An understanding and experience of the development, master planning & town planning process.  Substantial competency in managing design and delivery of retail, commercial and Leisure projects.  Commercial acumen and negotiation skills.  Excellent presentation and communication skills.  Leading and running teams of internal and external makeup.  Experience of leasing and site acquisition.  Experience of creating and managing interim use opportunities on large scale redevelopment programmes .  A range of real estate industry experience including extensive commercial property experience including commercial negotiations with tenants (anchor and others), client and stakeholder presentations, legal contract negotiations.  A demonstrable track record in retail , commercial and leisure design, planning process and project management.  Strong people management and leadership skills are required including the ability to upwardly manage Clients and work with Projects and Retail team, partners and stakeholders.  Innovative with excellent planning, negotiation and issue resolution skills.  Experience of joint ventures is desirable .  Can be relied upon to make good decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom and experience and will never compromise on safety.  Is very bottom line focused and can be counted upon to achieve goals.
