Neighbourhood Officer

Job Description

To provide a neighbourhood and tenancy management service to existing and future residents ensuring that terms and conditions of tenancy are maintained, and Landlord obligations fulfilled. To provide services to mixed tenure households including general needs, shared owners and Leaseholders. 

  • To let all new tenancies in accordance with our statutory and policy obligations. 
  • To ensure residents comply with all the terms and conditions of their tenancy/and or lease and carry out intervention and enforcement actions where appropriate 
  • To manage all internal and external common areas in partnership with our repairs and maintenance team and our residents.    
  • To ensure full legal and statutory compliance in the delivery of a tenancy and neighbourhood management service. 
  • To develop internal and external partnerships with statutory and 3rd party agencies to ensure the needs of residents are fulfilled. 
  • To sign post residents to relevant support agencies to ensure any vulnerabilities and support needs are addressed.
  • To follow all relevant policies and procedures in the delivery of neighbourhood and tenancy services. 
  • To deliver excellent customer service in accordance with Mount Green’s customer service standards.  
  • To involve residents in the management of their homes and the areas where they live.

Personal Specification

5 GCSE’s, Grades A-C, including English & Maths At least 2 years’ experience working in a public sector or commercial setting. Experience of managing neighbourhoods, tenancies, leases and undertaking enforcement actions. Experience of leading, involving residents and managing an Estate or Neighbourhood. Knowledge of Housing and associated legislation including health and safety and Welfare Reform Experience of working with a diverse customer base and addressing individual need. Experience of managing low level and complex ASB cases. Experience of investigating and recovering properties subject to tenancy fraud. Ability to plan, organise and prioritise workload. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) Ability to build effective relationships internally and externally Ability to understand /follow policies, processes and procedures Aptitude for IT and in particular Word, Excel and Housing Management software. Awareness of the impact and appropriateness of own personal communication style Passionate about service delivery Deadline focused Flexible and adaptable with positive ‘can do’ attitude Open and honest, with a strong sense of integrity Self-motivated, with high levels of energy and drive A team player
